Low intensity therapy provides brief interventions which offer support and information based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help you ‘self manage’ your difficulties, by teaching you how to make changes to your lifestyle and develop new coping strategies.
This is delivered by our Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs). Treatment is offered at your convenience, over the phone, face-to-face or via videochat and often involves using workbooks, self help information and online therapy modules as well as sessions with your therapist.
PWPs often use My Turning Point, a Computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (cCBT) which is an online therapy tool that allows you to work through personalised online therapy modules at home in your own time, whilst one of our therapists can provide feedback and support at regular intervals to help monitor and encourage your progress
“Fantastic service. Such empathetic and understanding people to talk to. I was warned about the stigma of depression and being judged but I felt at ease and enjoyed speaking on the phone”
