At Turning Point Talking Therapies, we see every day how powerful it can be when men feel able to ask for support, yet we also know that many still struggle to take that first step.
The Reality: Men Are Less Likely to Seek Support
During Men’s Health Week 2026, it’s crucial to shine a light on the reality behind men’s mental health. Research consistently shows that men are significantly less likely to seek help for their mental health. Many wait until they feel overwhelmed, believing they should cope alone or “push through” difficult emotions.
The reality is stark: although men access support less often, they are more likely to reach crisis point. National data from the House of Commons continues to show that men are more likely to lose their lives to suicide, often linked to untreated or unspoken mental health difficulties. This isn’t because men are less resilient, it’s because too many feel they can’t ask for help soon enough.
Challenging the Silence
Men’s Health Week 2026 is an opportunity to challenge the idea that struggling is something to hide. Talking about stress, anxiety, low mood, or pressure doesn’t make someone weak. In fact, recognising when you need support is one of the strongest and most self-aware decisions a person can make.
When men share their experiences, they not only help themselves but also create space for others to do the same. These conversations can have a powerful ripple effect, encouraging more people to seek support earlier.
Support Designed Specifically for Men
At Turning Point Talking Therapies, we’re committed to making that first step easier. As part of Men’s Health Week 2026, we’re continuing to highlight our dedicated Men’s Wellbeing Course.
This course is designed specifically for men who may feel more comfortable exploring their wellbeing in a male-only environment. It focuses on:
- Understanding stress, anxiety and low mood
- Managing physical symptoms and boosting motivation
- Improving sleep and tackling avoidance
- Learning practical coping strategies
- Building confidence to manage day‑to‑day pressures
Many men tell us that being in a room with others who “get it” makes a meaningful difference.
Men’s Wellbeing Workshop – 17th June 2026
To mark Men’s Health Week 2026, we’re also hosting a Men’s Wellbeing Workshop on 17th June.
This session is open, welcoming, and designed to give men a chance to explore their mental health in a supportive space. Whether you’re feeling stressed, finding it hard to switch off, or simply want to better understand your wellbeing, this workshop offers practical tools that can genuinely help.
Why Early Support Matters
One of the key messages during Men’s Health Week 2026 is that you don’t need to wait until things feel unmanageable to ask for help. Support is most effective when it’s accessed early, and you deserve to feel well — not just to “get by”.
